Sean, Crystal & Matt with the production strength of Jeremy Slome & Daphne Wu pulled together a 25 minute documentary highlighting a few heritage bars in Oakland. The film premiered to a packed house at Oakland Museum of California.
We also handled promotional materials for the weeklong event, producing material for their social channels and a fun promo video.
Sean is working with some familiar and new characters in handling final color for Lucasfilm on their latest animated series. Helmed by director Justin Ridge, art direction by Amy Beth Christenson & lighting supervisor Joel Aron. Read more about the announcement here on starwars.com
Chills every time with this one. Sean color graded the original run of the series and is happy to be back to finish it up strong. The reception was outstanding at comicon when this secret was revealed. #clonewarssaved.
It's pretty heartwarming to watch for a second time with the audible audience gasps and celebration.
Random Acts of Flyness has been announced! We worked with Director Danny Madden to help realize a fully 2D animated "act" - Crystal hand-painted over 1,000 frames and Sean provided final compositing and color grading. Look for it on HBO August 3rd at midnight!
Sean got to work with Director Dominic Mercurio & DP Matt Rome to cook up some pretty rich, contrasty and bold alien-planet style looks for this Bells Atlas music video. We had to Be Brave!
Been a blast working with Everlane's in-house video team via Mission FIlm & Design for their various product launches.
Sean color graded a very fun spot celebrating MLB's Opening Day with Kingsford. Produced by Tane DV.
Director Danny Madden's live action short won the SXSW + Vimeo staff pick award landing it on the front page of Vimeo. Krista, actress Shirley Chen, won the jury award for best acting in a narrative short. Danny always finds ways to get every last ounce out story from his filmmaking process. In the color grade that turned out to craft the "faded memory" look Krista draws on through the film as well as a few extra touches like tracking in bruising around her neck for a few shots. Next up for team Krista is expanding and widening the scope of the short into a feature film which you can help kickstart right here! Very excited for things to come.
Proud to be a part of Team Jinn. Nija Mu'min's first feature film had a warm welcome with multiple sold out showings at SXSW where Nijla was awarded the special jury prize for writing. The Hollywood Reporter and LAtimes had some good things to say as well. As colorist for the film, Sean worked closely with DP Bruce Francis Cole to craft a rich, vibrant film with two narrative looks reflecting the two worlds the characters navigate. Editor Collin Kriner did some exceptional work on the film and is always an exceptional collaborator. Crystal Villamayor pitched in on finishing the many invisible and storytelling-centric VFX shots for the film. Avril Speaks produced and Paul Zahnley + Disher Sound handled sound design and rerecording.
I worked with Director Nick D'Agostino & Producer Courtney Azzara to put the finishing color touches on their dark, dense and poetic stop motion animated short, Blind Mice. The film will have it's world premiere at GLAS animation festival in March. They gifted me a prop from the film, the opium pipe used by the lead character.
Director Trevor Jimenez, Production Designer Chris Sasaki & Producer Jeremy Slome brought their film over to put the finishing color touches on this immensely beautiful film. Being in a packed house for the premiere at Pixar was incredible.
The film has gone on to be featured in over two dozen film festivals and took home the audience and grand jury awards at the prestigious Annecy International Animation Film Festival. Here's Trevor accepting the award.
We finished 19 spots for Tostitos' Lucky Bags campaign. It was a fun challenge to dialing in the official team colors for each spot while still leaving room for creativity with the look. Capitol Art's Director of Photography, Ed Ng, and the Goodby Silverstein crew were a blast as always to collaborate with. AdWeek had some kind words to say about the campaign.
